Dr. Ball graduated from LSU Medical School in 1984 and completed his residency at Ochsner Foundation. He is the current director of Anesthesiology at Lakeview Regional Medical Center and is held in high regard by his peers and patients. With over thirty years of experience in anesthesiology, he is noted as one of the top physicians practicing the safe administration of ketamine for chronic pain, depression and mood disorders.
The Ketamine Infusion Center is the first of its kind in Louisiana. Our staff consists of highly qualified registered nurses that are carefully selected offering our patients the best treatment available. TREATMENTS
Depending on your condition, Ketamine infusion treatments usually entail a series of three to six infusions followed by periodic booster infusions as needed. The frequency of booster treatments will range from a few weeks to months. All treatment is coordinated with your primary care provider. We do not write any prescriptions for pain or other medications.
Cost per treatment is $400.00 when paid by cash or check. Credit card payments will incur a 4% processing fee. Payment must be received prior to treatment. There is a $50 fee for all screenings that will be applied to the cost of first treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why use ketamine for depression over conventional treatment medications?
With current conventional antidepressants, SSRIs and SNRIs, there are many unwanted side effects such as upset stomach, sexual dysfunction, insomnia, anxiety, fatigue and headaches and onset may take up to six weeks or more. With ketamine there are no long term side effects and patients notice improvement in two to three hours after the first infusion.
Are the infusion treatments covered by insurance?
No, currently the infusion treatments are not covered by insurance.
What is the cost for each infusion?
$400 paid by check, credit/debit card or cash per infusion hour.
There is a $50 fee for all screenings that will be applied to the cost of first treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on your condition and your response to the treatments, patients typically require a series of four to six treatments followed by periodic maintenance treatments.
Do I need a referral from primary provider for Ketamine infusion treatment?
Yes, we will not provide infusion treatment without a referral, but we will screen you for free and make a recommendation. If indicated, we will help coordinate a referral and treatment through your provider.
Do you write prescriptions for medications?
No, we do not write any prescriptions. All the treatments are in office only.
What are the short term and long term side effects?
Since we use low dose ketamine infused over time, we have a very low incidence of any side effects. However, the most common reported short-term side effects include: delirium, dizziness ,euphoria, psychomotor retardation ,nightmares or vivid dreams, delusions or illusions, salivation, hallucinations, hypertension, tachycardia, nausea, and vomiting. Long-term effects, which are only seen in Ketamine abusers, include cognitive impairment, memory problems, and an inability to talk or speak.
Will I be safe during the infusion?
Yes, each patient will be continuously observed by a registered nurse and have EKG, blood pressure and pulse oximetry monitored throughout the infusion. Dr. Ball will be on site for all infusions to address any problems that may occur.
